For this project, I am thinking about composing a diary with a series of photographs. It is a documentation of my daily life and I aim to make pictures everyday so as to better reflect the repetition and changes within the month when I put them together in the final presentation. 

Choosing dairy as the theme for this project is inspired by a film, Perfect Days. The main character in the film makes pictures of trees in the same exact place everyday and he ends up with tons of dated boxes of trees’ pictures. I am also inspired by photographers who make portraits of themselves or their loved ones on a daily basis, which is interesting to see the elapse of time within the pictures and how it changes the subject day by day. It is meaningful to persistently photograph everyday and take time to observe and feel your life. Therefore, I am interested in trying out the diaristic approach to photography that focuses on personal documentation and slices of life, as well as exploring what the alternative would be for the diary in words.
